BackChelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has backed Fernando Torresto start scoring goals for the club.
The Spaniard made a record £50 million move to Stamford Bridge in January, but has since been unable to get off the mark for his new employers.
But the Czech shot-stopper believes that the World Cup winner will be a hit at the west London club, as he - unlike former Blues forward Andriy Shevchenko - is a proven striker in the Premier League.
"You can see the quality he has, he knows this league, he knows English football and that's his huge advantage," Cech said, according to The Sun.
"When you bring in a player with a big reputation for a big fee and he's coming from a different championship and it starts badly, then you can be worried - we had an example of that with Andriy Shevchenko.
"He was one of best players in the world but you never know how they will adapt to different leagues because football is very different in different countries.
"This is why I'm not worried about Fernando, you can see in his movement and in his communication with the other players that it's getting much better."
The former Rennes 'keeper believes that Torres will go on a good goal scoring run once he gets the all-important first goal out of the way.
He said: "He's helped create lots of good chances for others with his intelligent movement and runs behind the defence. He's been unlucky because he creates chances for himself that he's not taken but it's a question of time because he's doing the right things.
"I'm sure once he gets his first goal it will start a run."
The 28-year-old also admitted that club owner Roman Abramovich is desperate for the club to win their first ever Champions League trophy.
"I know Roman Abramovich quite well, I've been here seven years, he is still present at training sessions, he still comes to our matches," said Cech.
"Obviously he's happy when we win things, and of course we all want to win the Champions League.
"That's the only trophy missing from the Chelsea cabinet."
