Malouda to miss Liverpool clash

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that top scorer Florent Malouda will miss the big Premier League clash with Liverpool this Sunday

The French star picked up an ankle injury against Blackburn last weekend and will not make the trip to Anfield.

"Malouda has a twist on his ankle, not a big problem but he is not able to play against Liverpool, the week after yes," Ancelotti said.

In better news for Chelsea, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien and John Terry should all be fit for the clash after having sat out the Champions League win over Spartak Moscow.

"We hope Frank can play; John Terry I rested because he played a lot of games and I want to maintain the player; and Essien had a little problem on his toe but will be fit for the game against Liverpool," said Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba is determined to end Liverpool's mini-revival after grabbing his first European goal of the season for Chelsea in their 4-1 success against Sparta.

"There is never a good time to go to Anfield because they are a very strong team," said Drogba.

"They will try to use this game to start their season, so we have to be ready.

"We are seeing a different Liverpool than the one from earlier in the season. They have won their last two matches and their confidence is getting higher.

"We have to be careful. It's true that we shouldn't fear any team but we're going to have some difficult moments. Since I've been here, Chelsea v Liverpool has been special and it's always a difficult game. We're going there to win but it's not going to be easy."
