BackGuus Hiddink has advised Chelsea to make a £30m move for Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder.
The Blues appear to be moving closer to appointing Hiddink as their new boss after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked.
And the Dutchman has told the club to outbid Manchester United and City for his compatriot.
Sneijder, 27, who also played for Real Madrid, is keen to move to the Premier League this summer after a disappointing season in Italy.
Sir Alex Ferguson sees the playmaker as the ideal replacement for the retiring Paul Scholes but may be unwilling to meet his £200,000-a-week wage demands.
City are unlikely to have the same reservations but Chelsea hope they will be seen as the more atttractive option for the Champions League winner.
The London club are waiting for Turkish FA chief Mahmut Ozgener to return to work next week before making an official approach for Hiddink, who enjoyed a previous spell as manager.
The Turks are resigned to losing Hiddink despite him having a year left on his deal as national coach, as the Blues are ready to shell out £4m to pay off his contract.
Chelsea have also been linked with Tottenham's Luka Modric, another target for Untied, Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez and remain keen on Brazil star Neymar. Sportsmail revealed yesterday that Anderlecht youngster Romelu Lukaku is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.

JACKBECK1968 It is better to add some money for the player instead of giving Essien + Malouda out. We still need those two players as substitudes when the worse happens to the new signings.

hurley bringing sneidjer may mean the whole complexity of the team is to be changed coz hes a kind of player you build your team around meaning someone in the midfield has to pave way but who?.
the 09-06-2011 at 10:10
david86 It is not better to exchange Essien + Malouda for Sneidjer.but Sneidjer is so important for Chelsea, lets do any deal for it,but not exchanging.
