BackJohn Terry and Wayne Bridge could go face to face three times in a week thanks to the FA Cup draw. The pair have not spoken since revelations of Terry's affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the mother of Bridge's child.
Manchester City will face Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final if they beat Stoke in next week's fifth-round replay. The match would come a week after the clubs meet in the Barclays Premier League and days after England play Egypt on March 3.
Bridge is set to be called up for international duty despite the difficulties of having him in the same squad as Terry, who was stripped of the captaincy.
Manager Fabio Capello watched Bridge during City's 1-1 draw against Stoke on Saturday as he looks for a stand-in for injured Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.
Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini has backed his defender to fill the gap. 'Wayne played very well,' he said. 'He is a good player who can play for the national team and I expect him to do so. That is what he told me and I think it is important for him.
"I spoke to Fabio before the game. He asked about his players and if everything was OK. He has just come back from injury and he can improve. He was tired in the last 20 minutes but this is normal when you're coming back from injury.'
