Although last season could easily be classified as a disappointing one for Michael Essien, the Ghanaian midfielder is still a player in demand.
Today the tabloid press is insinuating that Roman Abramovich is set to reject any overtures from Real Madrid for the midfielder.
It`s rumoured that Jose Mourinho is looking to pay something in the region of £18 million to add some power to his midfield.
Mourinho, who signed the player back in 2005 for a sum of £24.4 million is set to receive a rebuff though with a source close to Abramovich re-iterating that:
"Abramovich is not going to sell."
Clearly Essien is to remain an integral part of the first team!

achana Good to hear. Essien isn't finished yet. It was just a temporary setback last season for him and most of his colleagues. I know he would bounce back in a big way this season. But what is happening in our defense is Fererra going to stay?
