The Argentine playmaker sparked a frenzy inSpain on Monday by announcing that he wants to leave Atletico, with Real Madrid and Chelsea both desperate to sign him.

But The Sun reports that Atletico chiefs are dead set against seeing him move to arch-rivals Real - so much so that they will do everything they can to block his move across the Spanish capital - and they apparently told the Blues on Tuesday night that they can have the star so long as they agree to his £40m exit clause.

Internazionale are to launch a £15m bid to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Song, the Daily Star claims - but Arsene Wenger is determined to try to hang on to the Cameroon star.

And indeed the Arsenal boss is looking to splash out rather than cash in, confirming he will consider shattering the Gunners' conservative transfer policy with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, a move the Frenchman describes in Wednesday's Mirror and Sun as "not impossible". The price tag will be somewhere between £20m and £35m.

Wenger is also linked with a move for Porto's £25m-rated striker Falcao, according to the Daily Mail, with Tottenham also mentioned as potential suitors for the Colombian after he refused to sign a new contract.

The rumour mill has been relatively quiet so far at Manchester City, and this could be the reason why: Roberto Manciniis set for "crisis talks" with City's owners which will "make or break the club", The Sun claims, reporting that the Italian is to fly to the Middle East to plead the case for City to go into the transfer market this summer.

The apparent crisis has apparently been sparked by a clash between Mancini and City chiefs Garry Cook and Brian Marwood. Cook and Marwood are apparently against yet another summer of big spending, while Mancini wants £120m to bring in five players this summer.

And finally Alex Ferguson has said that he would love to have Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford - the United boss apparently told Juventus coach Marcello Lippi as much following Gary Neville's testimonial match. (Sun)

That obviously does not mean he will make the move, but with Ronaldo reportedly at loggerheads with Real Madridboss Jose Mourinho there could be some life in the rumour... particularly if the Mail's reports that Real want to keepEmmanuel Adebayor and sign Didier Drogba from Chelsea are true.

dahrling

dahrling to me if he is as good as gold, chelsea should sign him on but then we should not forget that we had 50m on Torres and we saw nothing. so we or chelsea are to be very careful this time when signing.
